There was a bit of a late start Sunday morning as they did the final checks along the course. After that things ran smoothly as the faster class cars took off every 60 seconds. Starting with the 130 class they separated the cars by 30 seconds.

Mike Anderson getting the green flag! Mike has run this event for the last 4 years. He comes well prepared and does a great job every time. I've watched his run the times we've ran together and I'm always impressed how smoothly he performs. Mike ran in the 140 class crossing the finish at 140.0331 to receive 3rd in class.

I had another good run this time, but 1.1 seconds off just isn't enough to place. An old poker buddy on his way home from a job in Colorado stopped by Ely to run as my navigator. He did a great job telling me what I needed to do. At the start once I got up to about 80 mph (my normal driving speed) I stop accelerating. I guess I forgot I was racing! Not being satisfied that 80 was fast enough my navigator told me "faster, FASTER!!!". I promptly replied with a quick jump up to 140.
